Cuffed Up Release Gut-Punching New Song ‘Canaries’

‘Canaries’ is the guitar-pounding new single by Los Angeles-based post-punk band, Cuffed Up, led by their Fender-slinging vocalist, Sapphire Jewell. “The nature of the beast, you choose to say the least,” Ralph Torrefranca sings tremulously over the crooked chaos provided by his bandmates, Sapphire, Joe Liptock, and Vic Ordonez. “Canaries is about going down a path that you know is wrong, yet you keep going because some form of shame is driving you. Sometimes we become numb to the burdens we carry,” the band said in a statement.

Cuffed Up is Ralph, Sapphire, Joe and Vic. With comparisons to 90’s bands like Sonic Youth and The Pixies to modern day English acts like Wolf Alice and IDLES, it’s no wonder why the LA based quartet, CUFFED UP, have been turning heads since their debut double A-side was released at the end of 2019.
